I’ve just started reading this book, as I am interested in what the author, Emily Matchar, describes in the ‘New Domesticity’. In the book she explores why women (and some men) are dropping their 9 to 5 jobs to start homemaking, such as making their own jam, bread making knitting, quilt making, for profit or for fun? If the latter, then how are they affording this? Matchar meets these homemaking types across America to find out what all the fuss is about… and I’m intrigued!
